Helen Beatrix Potter - The Classic Kid's Novelist

With the earnings from her publications, she grew to become economically independent of her parents and was ultimately able to buy Hill Top Farm in the Lake District. She extended the property with various other acquisitions over time. In her forties, Beatrix wedded William Heelis, a local solicitor. She ended up becoming a sheep breeder and farmer while continuing to write and also illustrate children's novels. As a whole she authored twenty-three children's books.
Beatrix died on 22nd December 1943, and left almost all of her property to the National Trust. Her publications carry on selling well across the world, in a mixture of languages. Her tales have been retold in various formats including a ballet, films, and in animation.
